9-X BioHybrid the Best Concept


Saab presented the Best Concept at Geneva Auto Show, concept called 9-X BioHybrid. Maybe Saab is a discreet presence on automobile market, but the Swedish have great plans. The Swedish constructor wants to produce a series model and they have received a great distinction that will motivate Saab producer.
The 9-X BioHybrid Concept presented at Geneva Auto Show was appreciated as the best concept during this event. The 9-X BioHybrid Concept received the prize, not only for its great design but also for the technology on board. The concept has a 1.4 liter turbo that produce 200 hp and 200 Nm and can be used with E85 fuel, too; and it also has an electrical engine that can help at higher speeds. When the engine is fueled with normal gas, the car consumes around 4.9 l at 100 km and if it uses E85 fuel, the medium consumption is of 6.4 l at 100 km, but with lower CO2 emissions.
I can wait for the series model that will certainly compete with Audi A3 BMW 1 Series and even with Volvo C30.

Saab Aero X Concept Car

The GM Europe Advanced Design Team’s partnership with the Innovation Team proved to be the essential success factor in the design of the Saab AeroX Concept Car. Various key features were executed with professionalism that not only stole the show at Geneva 2006, but will inspire Saab products for generations to come.
The Saab AeroX was voted ‘Best in Show’ in the Geneva Motor Show by Autoweek magazine, and has been nominated for a ‘Concept Award‘ by the prestigious Louis Vuitton Classic Awards. The Saab AeroX is regarded as one of the most innovative show cars and also the ‘greenest’ supercar concept, as its twin turbo E100 Biopower engine runs on 100% bio-ethanol.

2008 Saab 9-3 Sport Sedan Aero

The new 9-3 Sport Sedan Aero was created by Saab with a V6, of 2.8 liter, turbo engine, which developed 280 hp (at 5,000 rpm). The maximum torque is of 499 Nm at 1,800- 5,000 rpm.
The gear shift offered is standard, with 6 speed manual transmission. But you can obtain an automatic transmission, if you want. The traction is integral, named Saab XWD.
The maximum speed that the Saab 9-3 Sport Sedan Aero can reach is of 250 km/h (electronically limited) and it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds.
Pretty good performance for this Saab, don’t you think?

Saab 9-4 will be built in Mexico

The future compact crossover Saab will be built at Ramos factory, in Mexico, next to a similar Cadillac, which will be called BRX. In this moment, the car’s developing is hurried by the Swedish, because it must get on the market with the new wave with crossovers and small SUVs, from rival companies.
This 9-4x and the BRX will be produced on two technical platforms: Epsilon 2 and Theta. The decision to get them produced in Mexico was taken by Saab, because they want to increase sales on this mark in SUA.
This time, the most difficult mission for Saab will be to make the difference between two twins products, because they didn’t succeeded with to models: 9-2x and 9-7x, a Subaru Impreza WRX and a Chevrolet Trailblazer, with other faces and other marks.

Saab Turbo X, 2008

Since there are 30 years from the introduction of the first model gifted with a turbocompressor, SAAB is presenting today, 11th of September, at Frankfurt Motor Show, SAAB Turbo X.
The engine of this car is a 2.8 V6 Turbo, which can develop 280 hp and 400 Nm and transmits the power to all 4 wheels, truth the new system SAAB XWD (Haldex). The acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is mad in 5.7 seconds. You can see in this article first photo of this model. Much more photos will be available after the official presentation.

Saab Premieres BioPower 100 Concept at Geneva

Saab has unleashed its latest environment friendly vehicle, BioPower 100, at Geneva Motor Show. The car is based on the Saab9-5 SportCombi, and it sports a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine developing 300HP. What’s so special about this car, is the fact that it has the first production-based engine optimized for pure bioethanol (E100). Still, it can reach 100km/h in 6.6 seconds.
