Mercedes-Benz presented the new limousine based on the extended chasis of S series, named S600 Pullman. The name “Pullman” comes from the luxury rail cars produced by the American Pulman Palace Car Company. The first time Mercedes used this name, was in 1928 when the W08/460 Nurburg model was modified to be the first Popemobile, beeing obviously bulletproof.
The new “Pullman” has an 5513cc 12 cylinder biturbo engine which outpus 517 Hp and a peak torque of 830 Nm.

The first models of the new Mercedes Benz S600 Limousine will be delivered in late 2008 and they will probably be some of the most secure vehicles in the world. The Pullman Limousine has been tested to a B6/B7 resistance level and that means it can resist hand grenades fragments and it complies with the military projectile resistance. It includes a self-sealing fuel tank, a fire-extinguishing system and of course run-flat tires. Nothing about the price of the car, though.

Volkswagen announced that they want to make an R version for their SUV, VW Touareg. After Golf R32 and Passat R36 it’s Touareg’s time to become a sports car. VW Touareg R could be named R50 and it will have for sure the same characteristic design elements of Golf R32 and Passat R36. The confirmed information presents the car with an V10 diesel engine of 4.9 litres and not one on gasoline, but the R-Touareg could have an W12 engine capable of 450HP. That would not be a smart move because it will be a serious competitor for Audi Q7 V12 TDI.

This is the first official photo of the brand new Audi A5 coupe. The new Audi A5 is the first car based on the new corporate platform from Audi, which promises better handling and a better ride than any of the previous Audi platforms. The name of the new Audi platform is Modular Platform for longitudinally mounted engines, or short, MLP, and it will be used in the upcoming Audi A4, Audi A6 and Audi A8.
I think this is a beautiful car and I can hardly wait to see the announced RS5 which will be a sports car killer.
